Andrew Sachs - RIP

Brilliant to watch him play along side John Cleese - the look of confusion he could create was genius.

RIP - another one gone

Simple comedy with no foul language, fantastic in my opinion.

Seen it loads of times -- still makes me laugh.

Watching it again tonight makes me realise how clever it was...

Only 12 episodes made but will live with me for the rest of my life.

It's a sign of the times that this type of comedy & these caricatures would not be acceptable in today's PC world!!

I heard on Radio 4 that Andrew Sachs was reluctant to play the part or doubted if he was capable of pulling the accent off. He asked John Cleese if he could use a few props like the heavy moustache, waiters jacket and tea towel across his arm to assist in the challenge.

What he produced was comedy genius!

Apparently he was a genuine guy who was very humble and unassuming.

RIP Andrew! Top man
