Andrew Sachs - RIP
Brilliant to watch him play along side John Cleese - the look of confusion he could create was genius.
RIP - another one gone |

Anyone just watched the classic 'deaf woman' eps. just now?
"...Is this a piece of your braiiiiin!" |
Simple comedy with no foul language, fantastic in my opinion.

Seen it loads of times -- still makes me laugh.
Watching it again tonight makes me realise how clever it was... |

Only 12 episodes made but will live with me for the rest of my life.
It's a sign of the times that this type of comedy & these caricatures would not be acceptable in today's PC world!! I heard on Radio 4 that Andrew Sachs was reluctant to play the part or doubted if he was capable of pulling the accent off. He asked John Cleese if he could use a few props like the heavy moustache, waiters jacket and tea towel across his arm to assist in the challenge. What he produced was comedy genius! Apparently he was a genuine guy who was very humble and unassuming. RIP Andrew! Top man |
