Thanks mate.

Well i have finally had chance to give the car a good run, it was a lovely dry and sunny morning here today and also my day off. The roads have finally dried up so the perfect opportunity for a bit of seat time.

The car feels astonishingly quick and torque delivery in the first few gears really pins you in your seat. The around town drive ability is so smooth and effortless, I could quite easily have this as my daily drive as its so well behaved and dare i say easy to drive.

When you plant the accelerator though things go a bit loopy :D

Even with dry roads the car was still lighting up the tyres in second and third gears.

A short clip from today.

I can believe that, can only to get mine to spin on launch. Ad08s. But previous budget tyres spun in 3rd.
Massive difference imo.

Nankang NS2R mediium compounds. Some new wider rims will be coming early next year.

looking at the Ad08's, also a new tyre from Pirelli, semi slick, my 8's have started to crack, spent a long time stood still

Maybe the softer compound may cope with the extra torque lol

There a vids of same car, same day, same driver going 3 sec a lap slower on a new set of ar 1s than the worn r888.

Which is a shame as i really fancied the ar1s

Dubzy 25 November 2016 08:14 PM

I wasnt sure what to do regarding the exterior styling as i quite like the way it looks pretty standard to the untrained eye. After seeing more pics of Iain's car with the flares fitted Im seriously thinking about joining the club.

What u reckon busta ??

I was thinking of doing the wide wheels on my car,but I like the shape how it is,and plus I did not fancy cutting my car up,once its done its hard to change your mind back with all the arch cut out,Iain's car does look nice though :)but its one of those decisions that you have to be 100% about or don't bother doing it as their is no turning back.SJ.

Yep as sj said, big decision, and can be quite expensive, paint, new wheels, tyres etc.
I want to do it at some point but I'd rather leave it a while.
It's becoming quite common so best I leave it till long as possible and only do it because wider tyres needed for more grip.

joe v3sti 26 November 2016 09:35 AM

I agree with busta it's very common these days.
Plenty of grip to be had stock arches ;)

when you say new, were they new as in the new type of tyre or new as in not scrubbed in?
