Window scratches

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all, I noticed these scratches on my o/s/r window today (see pic) which had me a little stumped......and pissed off at first anyway. I couldn't suss out what could have caused it, I decided it must have been something when the window has been put down, but what? I then put down the opposite side window and even though there was no scratches there was the same shape smeared due to the water when I put the window back up.

Now after searching it seems there's a common issue with the window guide scratching the windows on the Impreza but I haven't seen any pics. Does it look like that's what it is??? If it isn't then it is what it is, nothing I can do about it.

When I try and work it out it makes sense I feel that's what's causing it, and that window was up and down like a whores undies the first week of ownership because of the wee man feeling sick. But I'll be honest, I never noticed it until today which isn't like me.

Looks like the common fault like you said. Mine the same but less noticable with the rears tinted.

Just embrace it. It gives the car even MORE character. :D

I have it on my Classic's driver window. It's a thing.

Change the guide pad, it looks like a small brush and seems to collect crap which then scratches window.

Seems to be standard on classics :lol1:, even our R33 had the same issue

To remove the scratches, people have recommended 'jewelers rouge' in the past -- don't know if it works tho', never tried it .....

It is a common issues with classic & newage versions I'm afraid.

Regarding scratches if you can feel it with your nail it is a tough job or nigh on impossible to remove by yourself.

Another alternative is a professional company who will be able to remove them but because it is a labour intensive job it can be financially prohibitive, therefore as I did, try and replace them with scratch free ones from a car being broken or a Subaru breakers.

As above
Jewelers glass polish /scratch remover
Try toothpaste as a cheap alternative
