Please help me read my ecu fault.
Hi guys, after a busy and expensive weekend I was driving to work and an engine management light has come up. My cars an 04 blob wrx uk and ive had it 9 months and it hasnt missed a beat. as far as im concerened too it still hasnt missed a beat. i was just in a row of traffic waiting at lights about 5 mins after initial cold start up this morning and it came on. ive turned it off a few times and restarted and its still there. also disconnected battery for half hour and no luck. (i understand this doesnt reset ecu on the newage models unlike classic)
Im a bit miffed as id finally started putting a bit of cash aside to get all my parts fitted and then mapped. i hope this isnt to costly to fix! The car is stock other than a backbox and panel filter. all cats etc still in place everything else bone stocxk and car still drives perfect. Im useless with tech, so can anybody give me in laymans terms how i can read my fault codes. ive searched and its all going over my head. i have an i pad2, and a nokia lumia windows 820 phone what do i need to find out whats wrong or have i got no chance lol. TIA, help would be very much appreciated right now. :thumb: |
why not find a local member who can help read the code ?
|
Buy a obd code reader off ebay for £15. It will give you a code then google the code.

Hi all.
thanks to nortonscooby who came out and read my code for me on his flash ecutek data monitor :) p0031 so looks like the oxygen sensor in the headers as gone. the light came straight back on after it was cleared. im going to check the sensor resistance and see if theres any loose connections before i order... but can anyone give me a heads up on where to get a genuine sensor from for this. ive looked on ebay and theres thousands, all different prices, makes and part numbers. 04 wrx blob uk. any update ?
|
Sorry... small update yes.
I have ordered and received the lambda sensor. (denso) The cars going in to MB Developments this Saturday and i'm leaving it there untill early next week to have my front brake conversion and a few other bits and bobs done. So I thought may as well leave the guys to do the sensor whilst there in the front wheel well doing the brakes :) haha. I'll let you know if the light stays off once that sensor has been swapped out. Cheers. Aaron. |
Have you picked it back up? Any better and hows the brakes?

It goes in tomorrow so ill prob get it back mon/tue. You know i mentioned to you it was going in for that corosion protection, well they found when removing the undertray that the lower front subframe brace was rotting so getting that done at the same time too. Rest of it underneath is good and nothing to worry about though. Ill let you know about the brakes. Should be decent though its that godspeed 345 2 piece disk kit. And downpipe as well so should sound a bit more like a proper car then as well lol :D |
How the motor now mate?
