Big boot so a possibility

I believe they're a 2.0 twin scroll, same as a jdm impreza of the same year. But really well equipped. Half leather interior, smart alloys and I think they've got a semi auto gearbox. Trooper1815 has got one, check out this link:

Aye, they didn't do an E39 M5 Touring,....so as a drummer, it didn't suit me brilliantly. Hence my S4 and WRX are both estates.:D

Love the stealth styling of that. Doesn't look like an Evo reminds me of a Volvo estate, plenty of room worth considering needs a full valet though.

I like that evo estate. And while we're talking about bonkers estate cars how about an R34 skyline estate:

I think a legacy looks better than both of those, they're both very boxy at the back end.

Something like an Audi S8 could be fun, or an X5 4L petrol of course or maybe the big Porsche Cayenne 4x4 think the VW version has a big petrol engine too.

If you're gona do it, you might as well do it in style and go for it big time, especially if running costs aren't an issue.

True the nissan stagea isn't the best looking.
This is the only passat that has ever tempted me; the r36 a proper sleeper:

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302054968581

Trying to convince my wife on one of these!

I quite like these, a bit boxy side on but lowered they look really mean. Another member has one as a track car si they must have track day potential. A possibility but not many clean ones around.

This is nice for a Passat but still a bit dull and those VR6 engines were prone to cracked heads.

This and plenty of cash left over for a remap and a Milltek exhaust

Like that but not an auto, I assume they do a manual box too.

Gone full circle here back to Audi RS6. I do like them though and over 450 BHP as standard from a family estate seems pretty sensible, looks great in red too. Love the M5 too I bet that V10 sounds awesome, but I still prefer the Audi and it's much cheaper.

plenty 20 October 2016 09:55 PM

Be prepared for some chronic bills on a C5 RS6. They're cheap for a reason.

FWIW, I've owned an E39 M5 for six years and it's been one of the most reliable cars I've had.

Greenslade 20 October 2016 11:44 PM

Aye, my E39 M5 never missed a beat in 3 years. All I had to replace was the rear brakes and a battery.

Just thought I'd update this and show you guys what I bought about a month ago.Attachment 26023
Attachment 26024

It's in great condition with good history and standard apart from being on KW coil overs. Standard power is 450 BHP which is slightly down on my Scooby but the 560 NM of torque more than makes up for it. Handling obviously isn't as good as the Scoob but I love the the car and have done more miles in one month in the RS than the Scoob did in two years. It's meant to be my second car as was my Impreza but it's hardly ever on the drive.

Ive been looking at these.please if you can keep the updates coming.a lot of car for the money.just heard they are pricey for parts etc?

RICHARD J 19 March 2017 03:51 PM

It's going to cost more to run than a standard Impreza, but if you are comparing to a heavily modified car I don't think there will be too much differance. However I am prepared for major expense if the box fails as these can cost 4k to rebuild although I can remove it myself so it would be less for me. I've fitted a rear calliper which was £90 exchange not too bad and I've got a full service kit which is more than an Impreza due to twice the plugs and oil.

Brave man ;)

They sound the business.

Get an extra mortgage, and do a manual conversion.

If you go for RS6 then buy the C6 not C5 as C5 have a Gearbox problem :thumb: also RS3 is not bad too :D

Nezscooby 19 March 2017 04:57 PM

Damn you already bought a C5 x_x oh well goodluck with it and dont ever think to remap it as gearbox is the weak point of them :/ cost over 4k to rebuild it :/

Yea it does sound great when you floor it. I've done a lot of research before buying and although mine has had a box rebuild two years ago I'm aware it's something I may have to pay for in the future. The manual conversion is fairly simple once the parts have been sourced and there are a few boxes that fit so I have been considering this in the future. However after driving it for a month with the tiptronic, I have to say it works well and is suited to the car, I almost feel a manual box would somehow spoil the car.

nortonscooby 19 March 2017 05:21 PM

Looks tidy. Someone i used to work with had one that was mapped etc and he said if he filled the tank and gave it the beans he could get it empty in around 80miles

C6 slightly outside my budget although while looking I did come across the odd cheap one which was only slightly over budget, but these were very high mileage cars with issues. I'd rather a nice C5 than a C6 with issues and space ship mileage. You are right about the box though but I figure it's about the same cost as an Impreza engine rebuild and about as likely to fail.

Economy is pretty poor but then it was on my Scooby too. An MRC remap with Miltec will see well over 500 BHP and a load more torque so I may go that route eventually, but it's got plenty for now.

manual conversion its costly plus thats not reliable either ^^ because you going to use the S4 or RS4 gearbox which is not reliable either ^^ but goodluck with it as long as you dont remap it you should be fine join audisrs fourm :thumb:

I had 510 bhp one long back with Miltec exhaust system and oh boy it sound sweet :thumb:
