Boost problems

Hi guys new to the group
Had my scooby a week now and i believe it isnt boosting as high as it should be
It is showing 8/9 psi it has a manual boost controller and previous owner said he has turned it up by 2psi so that means stock boost should be 7psi seems very low its a 1997 uk turbo
I have taken battery off to reset ecu and still the same anyone got any ideas before i go and buy a boost solinoid
Thanks in advance

it seems to be around .9 of a bar about 13 psi , you can try a reset , no lights on the dash ? , i think reset is joining two wires under the dash , is car running ok ? , sometimes a maf sensor not working can cause running issues with no cel , as it's probably pre obd port i believe you can code read again by joining certain wires under the dash , but i wound try reset first , much mileage on the car and any other issues ?

and on that note is the boost gauge working correctly ?

maybe boost controller is causing the fault are you able to put it back to standard and see what happens

Remove the mbc they can kill an engine quite fast.
Stock boost will be 12-13psi.
The ECU reset does work if done correctly,it clears faults, resets boost errors, resets fuel trims and knock correction tables :thumb:
