hello all!
actually I would like to hear from any of you who actually use your cars, and aren't afraid of proving it! (male or female!)

as you will have seen, i've been trying hard to get some scooby interest in taking part in the top ten shootout, at elvington, sunday 4th august.
Unfortunately, for some reason scooby owners seem very reluctant to come forward, we only have 2 or 3 entries?
you certainly wont be outclassed, we are doing timed handling as well as drag and top speed runs. In addition, there are more usual spec cars (ie fwd 230-250bhp,and 250-300bhp 4wd cars) taking part, alongside the 500-700+bhp monsters.
i know a few of you came to our trackday there last October, and enjoyed it, so why not try this event?

its superb value at just £70 per car for the full day, there are some famous cars there. you will receive a free copy of the video shot on the day, as a reminder. RC developments are sponsoring a trophy and prize, for fastest scooby, so you will have something else to aim for, in addition to the general trophies.

surely there are more than 3 quick scooobys in the area, who are available on sunday 4th august?
http://www.trackdayplu.com

email me direct if any queries.
an updated enntry list will be back on soon, but we have so far:
10 skylines from 500-715bhp
6 gti-rs
6 cossys all 500+bhp
6 RS/zetec turbos, 220-350bhp
4 rover turbos, 220-340bhp
6 supras, 450+bhp
4 dodge vipers!
10 cars from my own club, 300-600bhp
and other stuff, ie transit va with 370bhp, etc etc!

if that fails to tempt you, what will?
if so spectating is open at 10am , pay at the gate!!!

johnfelstead 12 June 2002 10:45 PM

I have a completely bog standard STi5 TypeRA V-Limited. About 280BHP realistically, would be interested in how this compares to all these big power cars.

200PlusClub 12 June 2002 11:20 PM

I'll put it in my diary.

What is the surface like at Elvington?

steve McCulloch 14 June 2002 08:20 PM

Sorry - would be too embarassed - dont know anyone with a properly modded car up here - unless theres a few people hiding with 2.5 litre conversions anyone? to keep up with these cars

Apple 15 June 2002 12:24 AM

Korky - generally it's a good surface unless it's deteriorated since I last went (I used to marshal / help with single venue stage rallies / time trials / sprints there) and it's probably changed hands a few times as well in the meantime

it's an (ex)-runway and they don't tend to make them slippery ;) OTOH it's good for going through sets of tyres at a reasonable rate and there can be plenty of marbles on the outside of corners if you go too wide (plenty of run-off areas though :))

Apple 15 June 2002 12:27 AM

'Chelle - you've gone up in the world or is it "warm?" ;):D got rid of the rex?

steve McCulloch 15 June 2002 12:36 AM

Rich - dya think its worth attending

Fancy my chances against the other Scoobs!

Any decent powered Scoobs supposed to be turning up - i.e. >400bhp?

200PlusClub 15 June 2002 12:53 AM

Its definately worth entering:

scoobys will have their own trophy and Top prize, donated by RC developments, to approx £250 value.
you will get to go head to head against anything you want, ie scoobs, evos, gti-rs, rs turbo, cossy etc, on the drag runs.
the handling circuit will be open all day for single car timed runs, to have fun on, and if you dont want to drag race all day etc. you will get a valid comparison of how you/car performs then in all aspects.
its not deady important to win, just have fun and see what happens, scoobs are unlikely to be embarrassed just because of some of the other cars running.
you will get your car featured in the video and receive a copy afterwards!
jap performance will be featuring the event also.

you will also get to see the other cars run, which will be superb i'm sure!
loads of space, runway is flat and smooth, very grippy, all we need now is 8 more scoobs!

I'm now opening it to anyone with a scoob who wants to take part, via direct email to me. there is one car already coming that is a very good spec, but i have been sworn to secrecy (ie i dont have the full details as yet!) lol
hope to hear from you soon

Ok - will have a think bout it..

Theres only two highly modded cars I know in the country and both are not quite finished. Both should be around 500bhp+ and they are both 2.5 litre engines

200PlusClub 15 June 2002 10:06 PM

to all scooby owners:
i will need to hear from you within a fortnight please if attending the event as an entrant. we have to send the info and suchlike out in july.
website has the entry form, download it and return when ready, with chq payable to Trackday plus ltd
http://www.trackdayplus.com
many thanks

korky 16 June 2002 11:20 PM

I think that I'll come along to watch. I can't afford a set of tyres - unless someone has a free set!

Korky

200PlusClub 18 June 2002 11:27 PM

dont just be tempted! do it!

seriously though i would appreciate some quick support on this please. £250 worth of prize for best sccoby from RC developments, plus a copy of the video being made !

first come first served on the places , quite a few have emailed to enquire.
many thanks

johnfelstead 21 June 2002 11:19 PM

mine will be when my ink cartridge is replaced. :D LOL

If your still short of people near the time and you would let me bring my bike along, let me know. Interested in the 1/4 and top speed runs. Willing to contribute to costs.
Do have a scoob, but its bog standard and would probably be of no interest to anyone, including me, but I would like to find out how fast my bike will go at top end.

Cheers

gregh 26 June 2002 10:39 PM

Would a fairly bog standard Scoob, with PPP running 240-250 bhp (never dyno'd) be embarrased at such an event?

greg

gaz turbo 27 June 2002 11:45 AM

sounds like a good event ill come along with a car full just as a spectator a bog standard turbo would'nt have a chance at some of them monsters

gaz turbo

ChristianR 27 June 2002 04:14 PM

does the price include insurance for the track?

super_si 27 June 2002 05:33 PM
