Forged EJ257

Looking for a forged EJ257 long engine to fit a 2006 Hawkeye STi.

Anyone have anything from a project or know of anyone who would sell one ready built?

Cheers

Pm'd.

I was going to build one for my Spec C but I am going to go 2.1 instead....

I have 2.5 block halves with CDB Inserts. Machined for 14mm studs
Manley rods with ARP studs
Mahle 2618 pistons
EJ257 Heat Treated Crank
ACL bearings
14mm Head studs
11mm Oil Pump

I can assemble this as a shortblock for you and you then just put your heads on (once they have been machined for the 14mm head studs).

Just done an EJ257 to the same spec but with Cosworth 11mm studs and fitted it to a friends Hawkeye (lives in Aberdeen) and he is running 480bhp and 450 lb/ft torque @1.55 Bar on an MD321V......

Looking about £3000 for the assembled shortblock as above

To the OP: if you go for this, and want to run 450+ I would defo go for 14mm studs. My own 2.5 running 480bhp blew the (cometic) headgaskets on 11mm studs after 10k miles. It then ran 40k+ miles on 14mm studs and a Cosworth HG running 500 and is still going strong :thumb:

Guys, my subscription has run out but because I am sailing a rig from Singapore to India - the internet is crap and I cannot get PayPal to verify my payment and renew my subscription.

If you need to discuss then it will be easier to eMail me on bhpdevelopments@hotmail.com as I get emails...... but very little else

WUZ 09 October 2016 05:54 AM

Failing that, I should be landing back in Aberdeen in 10 days and can build the engine and ship it a few days later.

Russell

I'll send you an email shortly. I'm in Aberdeenshire too so there might be no need to ship if we can sort something out.

WUZ 09 October 2016 09:55 AM

No problem.

INBOX CLEARED!!

Tim what make of 11mm where you using and what sort of boost were you running. Only asking as I'm running 11mm cosworths on mine as built by WUZ and I asked Andy Forrest if I was to go rotated and run a GT30 would I need 14mm and his view was no.

OP the 14mm block that WUZ has is future proofed, so if you wanted to run serious power later on you have that option.

ARP 11mm, but a cometic head gasket. It may well have been the cometic's that contributed...or loads of time on the dyno trying to get the power out the LM turbo (one of the first) etc. etc.

Agree...especially as it has closed deck conversion done too :thumb:

Capable of 600bhp+ I would think :D:D:D

Cheers Tim, the Cosworth studs and RCM gaskets should be up for the job then :thumb:

Cheers Marc. I've sorted out a spec with Russell as this would be overkill for the power I'm going for.

Do you still have the blue Hawk? You looked at my Grey WT Blob when I worked at S7.

Joel

Boyakasha 11 October 2016 09:05 AM

Aaahh, Hi Joel, how you getting on?

Yeah still got the Blue Hawk but sold my GT-R almost 2 years ago :(

Focusing on getting the scoob to be a pure track car, just doing it in stages.

Marc

I'm good thanks Marc, hope you're well too? I bought a Hawkeye last week with a blown engine so just looking to get it all sorted then decide what to do with it. I've fancied a forged one for a while and thought if I did it this way, I'll know exactly what's been done to it.

Are you going to be entering it into SLS or anything like that?

Surviving like everyone else up here, avoided the 2nd round of redundancies so hopefully that's it. No plans for SLS at the mo, will see how the car goes next year and then may enter the following year.
