Code entered wrong, car locked??

I hope some one has an answer! Basically I got in the car (subaru Impreza 06) a while back and the key would not work there fore maybe an auto over ride on the immobiliser...I used the code for a while fine however my dad went to borrow my car and entered the code wrong....now I can not use the car 😣 is there any way to reset a code or reset the key?

Usually it will let you input the right code after a length of time depending on how many times the wrong code was put in.

30 minutes lockout. Let it rest then try later. if yours has the keypad without the raised numbers then check for damage on the membrane as it could be holding a number of two down

Hi thanks, there's no damage and nothing happens when try the code again 😩

UPDATE!
Left it over night, now it's allowing code to be enteredand car starts as normal...I must now figure how to get my key programmed back to my car so I don't have to use keypad code 😕

Assuming it's the sigma M30 alarm

This is the key...yes sigma alarm...dont know which models there are....this key's remote does not work at all....only when i enter the code and then start the car with the key...if that makes sense

Whether it's a single button key or an alarm fob the procedure is the same.
The key has a battery in it so probably best to replace it first, before trying to re-code.

I had the battery changed, and the radio key does not work...so I can not able/disable the immobiliser with it unfortunately

And once again here

I have a similar problem with my second key,

It will open car and turn on ignition however the car just turns over and ovr never catches,

Use my normal key and it works first time,

Do keys need coded to start car as well as coded to open car ?

Anywhere nearGlasgow able to sort this ?

. This article assume that the alarm remotes are working and they are the ones that came with the car/system. If this is the case then you will need to follow the procedure below with both remotes:

My remote does not work

The button does not allow me to arm/disarm the alarm/central locking

Unless you try to re-code your key you won't know whether it works or not. The article assumes the remotes work i.e the battery is not flat or the pcb is not damaged.

I have a key which opens car and turns engine over but will no start ?

Sounds as if your second key does not have its security chip (if it actually has one) coded to the cars ECU.

Keys (chip) is coded to the cars immobiliser in the main ECU
Keys (remote locking/alarm operation) is coded to the alarm ecu

Jasminxx 06 October 2016 11:35 AM

It says I need to Arm and disarm using key......I can't do that...the key does not work.....can I do that with key pad?

Is this something i can fix myself or do i need tester from dealer or special code etc ?

If it has a chip, some key cutters can clone it to match your other key, otherwise it needs Subaru Select Monitor software (Dealer) or EcuTeck has the ability to do the same.

Apologies for that -should have re-read it.

Try this........

Programming Remote Keys to the System:
Remote keys can be added or removed to/from the system following the sequence below:
i) Type in to the keypad **
ii) Type in to the keypad the “existing PIN code” then *
iii) Type in to the keypad 91 * “ the number of keys to be used” #
iv) Press the first remote key button until bleep sounds, release and press next key. Continue until all
keys have been taught to the system. Note the maximum number of keys is 4 and all keys required
to operate the system must be taught during this operation - any key not included will no longer
operate the system.

If the car is not started within a specific time after unlocking then the alarm immobiliser resets.

This can be reset by turning the key to the "ign" position and pressing the key button again before finally turning key to the start position.

These items worth having and reading

I tried to start the car after I programmed the key back to being able to using it to arm/disarm central locking....it turns over but does not start at all

This sounds exactly like my problem,

Only i have a key that works fine, it's my spare that only turns engine over

Very interested to hear how this gets sorted

Simon STi 06 October 2016 01:39 PM

I paid £60 for the Dealer to sort it out. Took them over 2 hous. That's was the price they agreed

SmurfyBhoy 06 October 2016 01:41 PM

Is there no software which would allow me to do it myself usuin my laptop and tactrix cable i use for datalogging ??

Jasminxx 06 October 2016 01:47 PM

I just managed to get the car started. After half hour or so...but feels very juddery ....which has only been since reprogramming the key....I'm sitting here right now with the engine on as I don't want to move it just yet incase it stops

What did you do just keep turning it over ?

Did the battery die ?

Keep us updated

Jasminxx 06 October 2016 02:24 PM

Definitely was not the battery....after programming the key...the car just would not start...it turned over though I just sat there persevering back and forth locking unlocking trying again...until finally it started...I just sat their looking at it thinking....why? But left it on, drove around the block and all seems fine...key works...car starts....let's hope it stays this way 🙈
