Suspension Tweekers In Essex

Hello chaps,

Recently found out Drive Dynamics in Hanningfield have ceased to be unfortunately.

Any recommendations for an alternative in Essex?

I know it's slightly out of Essex, but I've used revivals in thriplow, they fitted my coilovers, set the geo and did a really good job:

How much did he charge you for all of that mate ?

Matty81 06 October 2016 08:52 AM

Because I know that extreme doesn't have the geo set up system on site

For fitting, set up and alignment and tweaking it was about £180.
When I saw how rusted and seized the bolts were I thought it was money well spent.

That's bloody good mate :thumb: . Extreme wanted £135 without the setup after afterwards. That's up by duxford right ?

Yes, they've also got a 4wd rolling road.
It was a bargain, they charged for about 4 hours even though, due all the rusty bolts, it took about 6.
There were some serious cars in there too. An e type, a highly modified dolly sprint and various race cars in for set up and tweaking.

Hmmmm may take a look. What's the firms name again mate ? Mother in law lives down the road so may drop the missus off and get me car sorted whilst she's their :thumb: . Do they work Saturdays ?

They do, but not normally a full day and Saturdays can get busy.
This is the website, give them a call.

They're proper enthusiasts and always worth a chat.

Cheers bud thanks for that :norty: :thumb:

You can get some damn good setup work done at Torque Developments
http://www.tdi-plc.com/

Lots of race & track cars worked on there & the tech director now owns a Spec C.

Isn't the cheapest but is second to none in terms of expertise.

Matty81 06 October 2016 10:48 AM

Thanks for the replies guys!. Great help as usual :thumb:

Well I'm booked into TDI in Thurrock on Saturday so will let you know.

Matty81 18 October 2016 06:49 PM

If you can mate. And the price cheers

Scoobysmeet 18 October 2016 10:01 PM

I think he quoted me about £80+ vat and hour and said average set up is two hours. I've just fitted fully adjustable camber plates so probably end up being a nightmare lol

Scoobysmeet 19 October 2016 09:46 PM

Well we will find out on Saturday lol. To be fair if have gone to skid marques but that's out of the window now. I didn't really fancy driving all the way to FB tuning with the suspension not set up.

So I found TDI to be very helpful and thought they did a really good job. They also did a full check before carrying out any work.they were on it for 2 hours so it cost £204.
I certainly left feeling I would have absolutely no issues about returning.

Apparently the car set up really well and it was really nice to be told the car is in good condition.

Matty81 22 October 2016 03:11 PM

Are they based in lakeside ?

I think SLP autos up the road have though, can corner weight also.

Scoobysmeet 22 October 2016 03:55 PM

They are behind IKEA and B&Q.

Stu, the plates went on as I had a knocking and was advised the top mounts were the fault (although that didn't cure it) I decided as I was changing them I would fit adjustables so I could have more control on the setup and the option to go more aggressive if I wanted to.

I wasn't really sure how to best set up the car talking to the owner he advised me this was a general set up that he'd found over the years worked really well. As I said they also did a full check of all the suspension and found there was a loose lower arm bolt.

I totally understand what your saying Stu, there weren't many other options. I certainly didn't want to drive to fb tuning with the suspension not set as the distance could have scrubbed the tyres.

Good thread this. I should also say I found Elite in Rainham to be pretty good. Excellent equipment and Jamie did a great job there on my Type R, getting my specifications exactly and it was literally almost perfect on all four corners. Just a typical hunter set up - it took about 30-40 minutes. Under an hour is normal if nothing is seized etc and it is just toe/camber.

The setup shown here is similar to how I used to run my newage WRX, and is similar to what powerstation were doing on that particular car from what I can tell (who had done mine in the past) as sa general setup. So I would agree with what TDI told you, but for my Type R which is more of a hooner I prefer the front to have more camber : ) .

Scoobysmeet 23 October 2016 07:41 AM

Yeah to be fair Sam at TDI said to me if I want it tweaked at all to give them a call and do back and see them.
I need to take it for a proper hoon and see how it react.

matt-c 31 October 2016 01:40 PM

Mototechs Essex in Southend have the hunter equipment.

Matty81 31 October 2016 02:10 PM

Do mototechs fit coilovers aswell ? And if so for what price mate ?

Murphy 01 November 2016 07:37 PM

pretty sure Supertyres /protyre in maldon has a Hunter 4 wheel system

https://www.protyre.co.uk/tyre-centr...re-maldon.aspx

Alot of friends have gone there before, although most of them are running skylines and used them when removing the 4 wheel steering systems

Matty81 01 November 2016 07:45 PM

Yeah they definitely do mate
