If so, what supporting mods do you have?

I know these TMICs can take 400bhp, i'm really looking to hear from those who have achieved it on a classic.

Cheers

Do you ever have any issues with overheating?

I have a ARC TMIC and running 360bhp, no overheating issues, but air charge temps rise very quickly reducing power very noticeably.

You are dreaming you need a FMIC to achieve a genuine 400 BHP. Some bespoke oversized TMIC can do 400 but not a Newage one, and certainly not safely without risking high charge temps and det. Man up and go front mount if you want to join the 400 club.

only when stuck in traffic. temp drops quite quick when moving again. I have a gauge linked to IC so always keep an eye on the temperature.

394bhp / 380 lbs.ft on a built 2.1 stroker. :thumb:

But had to use a Grimmspeed topmount.

The mod list is lengthy and includes 3 gearbox rebuilds/replacements. :(

I once read that the classic bonnet shape doesn't allow enough air flow into the scoop, even with a bigger scoop compared to a newage bonnet. Might have been Harvey who wrote it but I'm unsure about that.

There was someone up at Scoobyclinic with 440 odd on a tmic newage though

ronjeramy 22 September 2016 01:19 PM

Wasn't Bez running 450+ On a tmic admitidly on a newage.....

M4RKG 22 September 2016 01:39 PM

By the sounds, its not possible on the newage top mount...

... Not without charge temp issues.

Was just hoping to avoid using a front mount as not really wanting to chop the shell

You can run a 400bhp car with a TMIC but charge temp issues are a problem.
