I think this bloke deserves a discussion thread; since we have discussed him/his work here at lengths, many a times- over last six years.

I'm sad for him, but I understand his reasons for exiting politics and moving on to the pastures new; unknown so far.

What do you think, guys? Are you sad, happy or not bothered about this chip paper?

Yes, he will be able to get a new, well paid job. But for someone as politically switched on as him, it's quite a move from him to completely vanish from the scene.

I hear (I heard in on tv) that Theresa May, who used to follow his orders, hasn't even seen him since he has been sitting on the back bench. Imagine if another young one i.e. George Osborne also leaves, Tory party will also become as unstable as the Labour is; at the moment. Politics pundits were saying on tv that TM is an old school material, and therefore, she has muted the younger loud mouths. Boris being an exception, of course. TM may prefer him for bringing Cameron down, but I don't think she's really fond of him. I think he has been intentionally tangled, so that he commits a political suicide on one of these coming days. I think TM has 'Cut the Crap' strategy going.

I suspect he will be pretty harshly judged by history

He's seen how well David Milliband is doing and want a piece of the pie.

Bye bye, his successor has far more integrity. Not that I'm in high support of May but she's the best of a bad bunch :)

History will have a poor opinon of David Cameron, some of it well deserved. Helping to destroy the Gaddafi regime and inadvertently bringing Isis into being will be cited. Libya worked perfectly well before the West intervened and then left it in a mess from which it has not recovered. Cameron now seems to have have turned tail and run for it, an unimpressive exit for someone who achieved an unexpected victory just a short time ago.
