Thinking about getting a Ford Ranger

As above looking at getting a wildtrak ranger 3.2tdi.. auto.. found one top spec in black that I really like the look of.. Anyone on here got one or any experience?

Cheers ryan

I never had experience with one but I think they are fairly decent. They pretty good off road if that's what your into, Mighty Car mods on youtube (mcmtv2) did a review on the ford ranger off road and it did pretty well.
I dont have much experience with these types of cars tho... I would never own one coz I live that JDM life :)

Pros over 3 ton towing capacity
2016 model ( facelift aluminium chassis & based on the USA F150!albeit in smaller form
Wildtrack is top spec but you can get the XLT for a lot cheaper /
The duratec engine is reliable but noise is a factor above 70
Ford have a new engine ready to roll out soon
Loads of mods out there from companies in Australia & USA / if your goin to go off road you would benefit from a 2" uplift kit or you will deck out on wildtrack sill boards & bottom out on your bump stops if your goin wild ...

Oh & fuel wheels are the dogs

Looking at a 2015 model
Seems that the f150 front ends fit great. Thinking of the raptor front end and wheels eventually

I have owned one brand new since 2014, it’s my daily drive and I must say I love it, mine is the 2.2 diesel goes well and tows fantastic, I pull a Sterling Eccles Amethyst twin wheeler that’s just short of 7m long with no problems at all.

Taken it to Disney Land Paris Twice and it’s as comfortable as any car, slight downfall is its quite heavy on fuel, averaging about 24 mpg urban and 28 - 30mpg on the motorway.

As for the new face lift model I would think things have been greatly improved and looks better

Is the 2015 the face-lift model?

I had a 2014 Wildtak manual from new until, April this year. I'd probably still have it if I'd got the auto to start with. The manual I found clunky and with big lag when coming on and off the throttle.

Other than that and the sat nav being utter pony it was a nice truck. Towed really well, plenty of grunt etc.

The 2016 facelift is loads better interior wise, I ended up with a new Navara as I was able to get a better deal than on the new Wildtrak. Plus the new Wildtrak's interior seats put me off, they are basically all orange.:eek::eek:

Know what you mean about the seats. But there are some which are black with just a orange line in them that look smart.

That's the one I had, they are the old model.

If you get a new Wildtrak on lease it'll have the all orange seats.

Waiting for them to get back to me on availability. Plus what colour to go for I'm still not sure.. the orange is cool but maybe not can't decide. Otherwise will be a black one. Seem they do a Performance Blue but not seen one in person

My brother has a 2014 ranger but after driving both I also went for the new L200 doesn't look as good but is better in pretty much every other area comfort, fuel consumption, parking(ranger has the wheel base of a bus)build quality of the pre facelift Rangers interior is shockingly bad his is showing considerable wear after 20000m the carpets are dire.
After driving pretty much every think out there the only one I feel is better all round is the Amarok which we have a 2013 model of but you do pay a premium for the better quality and the new Hi Lux comes out this year which is supposed to be great but again going to be pricy.

You can't compare the new L200 with previous models if I was changing today I would have another.
