Brake setup for 400+ classic with 16 inch wheels
Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice in regards to brakes. I have a 400+ hp (hopefully) v3 type r in the works, currently having a load of engine work done so I'm shopping for brakes. I know this is a big ask, but what would be the best setup that would fit under 16" wheels? I'd like to keep the car visually as original as possible. The car doesn't see any track time apart from santa pod, and isn't driven anywhere near the limit on the road. Just wondering what my options are for front and rear. Thanks in advance! |
Hi
We can offer you a 300mm front kit using monoblock brembo 4 pot calipers that would fit under standard 16" wheel , we might even stretch to a slightly larger disc if we get a wheel to try them , we can offer you a full kit for £1000. The rears are a bit more difficult , as the V3 had 290mm solid discs and one pot calipers , so nothing else will fit on , you would be better off either getting V4 rear hubs , or V4 backplates to swap yours , you can then fit the 290mm vented discs and 2 pot rear calipers Hope this helps Cheers Ian |

Thanks |
Don't the 2 pot Bugeye (with 290mm vented discs) calipers fit the 16"? It's a good upgrade.

Cheers Ian, much appreciated. Just out of interest, which discs and pads are in the kit? It sounds very reasonable.
