I fitted them the same way as on the instructions and the video on YouTube so no I didn't fit them the wrong way in my opinion but can you make some pictures maybe.
Maybe I try to fit them once a gain and then post a picture I also had trouble fitting the skidproof on the passenger side on the fender.

This was my 1st attempt and wrong, bonnet wouldn't shut:

I see what you did wrong in the first picture but I did it like it's on the 2e picture and it didn't go down.
Didn't you have a problem fitting the skidproof clamp on the passenger side.

ossett2k2 24 July 2017 09:48 PM

I'm not sure what a skid proof clamp is tbh but the other side is the same:

Have you got your strut the correct way? Thicker part at top as Rich's picture shows?

makkink 24 July 2017 10:53 PM

Yes i also have the strut this way.
The skidproof clamp is the tiny wire that hold the strut on the ball.

ossett2k2 24 July 2017 11:01 PM

Ah that's what they're called :thumb:
Yes they all fit perfectly well on mine.

jaygsi 24 July 2017 11:35 PM

Not called that over here, we don't call front wings fenders either, thats a USA term.

So today a new try to fit them fitting the dampers go fine but closing the hood no way.

ossett2k2 27 July 2017 10:53 PM

Looks good makkink, can you not even pull the bonnet down?

Turbovin 27 July 2017 11:11 PM

When I fitted struts from a different supplier many years ago it looked like the bonnet would not shut properly (it did close but but alignment with the front wings was off) when both were installed so I actually used only one. Aluminium bonnet on my Type R so one was more than enough, maybe I should have another look if I installed them the wrong way.

makkink 28 July 2017 07:35 AM

if i pull the bonnet it will not shut and you see the bonnet move by the hinges so didn't pull any further.

jaygsi 01 August 2017 09:50 PM

Thats another thing if its an Aluminium bonnet, you should not be using 2, there designed for steel bonnets not Aluminium or carbon fibre, i'm sure its says in the instructions.

ossett2k2 01 August 2017 10:26 PM

I'm using 2 on mine.

jaygsi 01 August 2017 10:51 PM

Really Rich, most people use one.

And Rich makkink's engine bay is showing yours up :thumb:

I'd be interested in these, take it they are only available as a group buy?
