Blob STi Speedo Green - Colour Change

Hi all

I know that WRX speedos have green paint on them that you have to remove before changing the bulbs.

Does anyone know if STi clocks have the same paint or are they just lit green via green bulbs?

Thanks!

Having changed a few of my bulbs I can tell you that they are clear, they shine green through the backing material of the clocks.
If that makes sense.

I see, there is probably same as the wrx then, need to rub out the green on the clocks before changing the bulbs.

Thanks Siv!

Someone previous owner made my clock illuminations in my FSTI blue somehow. Hate them personally but not had time to change it back to standard yet.

Probably same as what I did with my old WRX, removed the green from the clocks using nail varnish remover, then used red LEDS, in your case blue.

Wasn't sure if I had to do the same thing with STi clocks.

BrownPantsRacing, if the previous owner had removed the green from the clocks, you should be able to just change the leds to the colours you like :)

Indeed, That was my thought too. I may leave it as blue but take it apart and do it properly. They've definitely used LED's in mine.

Do you have hot spots where the LEDs are? I found that when I did my WRX ones red, even when using diffused LEDs, parts were brighter than others. I think for that reason, if I have to do the same with the STi ones, I may just leave them green.

Yep. I've got hot spots and it really pi55e5 me off! lol. I would rather have them standard again to be honest, which I may well do.
