Anyone tried the wolf race jdm wheels?

Guys, very close to buying a set of graphite wolf race jdm Asia wheels for my wrb 2002 wrx. Going for 17"s as I want to keep the ride nice and pleasant!! Can't find many photos of new age imprezas running these on 17". Any thoughts or pics ?

Wolfrace do not make JDM alloys. Wolfrace Asia Tec make copies in China of OE wheels but without the quality.

They are called "JDM"

Lookey likey. Wolfrace offer 5 year warranties on some wheels but not the JDM-style. Like most replica stuff, buy cheap, pay twice.

Wolfrace have been making wheels since the 70's so they must be doing something right...I had a set of Superslots on an old MK2 Cortina! :D

Halfords sell Wolfrace so they must be good :D

Just look a good price for what they are

Quality for the masses - look good.
And those will not be a straight fit to a Blob WRX, wrong PCD.

Nice looking wheel but if you're hoping for quality at £345 brand new then you'll be disappointed.

The wheels will be fine. The company have been around a long time, and the products will be of been well tested and reviewed over the years. There will be no issue with quality on them.

Unbranded eBay specials though I would expect some potential issues, more so the weight of them - I had a set of unbranded Audi Rotors replicas, and the genuine ones side by side, the replicas weighed about 1kg more a corner, however they never broke from the lad who runs them on his super low car and pothole streets of South London. I hit a tiny pot hole with the Audi ones on standard suspension - it bent. Go figure.

Although, those wheels on a newage look positively gash, horses for courses, lots of gash looking Imprezas everywhere these days, so will look good amongst them in the Macc D car parks.

Thanks for the advice trinity, begining to change my mind now! My original plan was to get a refurb on my standard wrx wheels, they are standard silver at the moment and on a wrb bugeye don't look quiet right. I'm thinking a refurb and colour change on these again now! Possibly the standard gold colour or a graphite grey?

If you're looking for cheap timeless newage rims, then the Prodrive PFF7's (copied by Inovit Redline for roughly the same money your looking to spend) are possibly the nicest newage wheels - and best of all - practical and well made.

That is the kind of look I'm after!! Any idea who sells those replicas?

Trinity 10 July 2016 12:14 PM

Mags on here normally stocks them, he is a bit pricey, but he holds stock which many others don't so worth a try...other than that, the usual places Rimstyle etc

Normally a few sets floating around second hand on ebay etc

If you want to do it properly, get the original Prodrive Pff7's, but you'll need to do some saving first :)
