Home printer recommendations

I don't use a Printer at home and the ones I buy for work related stuff are way too much - size, cost, ongoing costs - for a replacement for an older gentleman who does a bit of colour printing.

What's the go to home printer nowadays. This was the last one I bought for myself :)

That's one old printer :eek::eek:

I have to say I am a big fan of the HP stuff, great value and touch wood never had a breakdown yet. I have used Dell, Lexmark, Cannon & HP at home / small business and my HP ones are the best I have had :thumb::thumb:

Impressed with HP that much I switched everything from Dell to HP.

Something like this might be good ??

I have one similar to this at home, very capable printer, Ink is readily available through the instant renew system where the printer orders the ink itself for a monthly fee, I just buy mine as and when. I have found they don't seem to keep altering the cartridges when they update models, had this with a Lexmark that was the reason it had to go.
As soon as I witched to the HP I realised my Lexmark wasn't great :lol1::lol1:

I also have a fairly old HP Photo printer 10-12 years old, still prints perfectly and Ink cartridges are still the current ones.:cool:

Mark.

I can't imagine anyone let alone older person being faffed with all that stuff

Take demands to high street print shop

If he actually needs to print something get ricoh sp213w cheap

Our HP510 was chucked a few years back for no other reason than it wasn't used anymore. Built like tanks, last longer too!

The later low-end domestic HP photosmarts annoy me...the drivers seem flakey and resource hungry, although thay may have improved on them in recent years. The C4200 we have in Spain is dries out its ink catridges if left unused for a few months and has no proper "out" tray  Hope the newer models have got better. The ePrint app is pretty good though.

I like the Canon Pixmas, got one myself and our new Bosch BEA950 comes with a Pixma iP7250, which so far seems ok. Plugged and played onto the WiFi ok and auto detected on PC and Mac, iPhone app seems a bit slow printing though. Compared to HP's ePrint which I use on the officejets.

yeah , good luck with the iPhone lol

Epsom stylus range for me, I very rarely use a printer (mostly for boarding passes on Ryan Air) inks are cheap £7 for a full set and the printers are very easy and straight forward to use, current one is around 10yrs old and never had a problem, it's a scanner too which comes in handy for documents like passport etc, prints good pictures too.

Epsom stylus SX425W.

Yeah I've seen people doing that and that you can download the app on Ryanairs website, I just prefer hard copy and having been bitten by Ryan air over boarding passes in the past I like to make sure I have a hard copy before I leave the house, I'm old fashioned like that, I even still use cash money.

Now look, I like most Apple products but even I don't get so excited to see one I can't control my urges.
