Brake pad Shims
Ive read numerous reports on how these pad shims can help against heat exposure to brake fluid.
Whats everyones experiences please? Stainless Steel vs Titanium? Thickness? Prices? any info welcome. |
I didn't use titanium shims but my opinion if thickness is same thermal conductivity is the key.
stainless steel(type 304, type 316) thermal conductivity 16 W/moC titanium thermal conductivity 19 W/moC Stainless steel is better on paper. But i love to see real world data too. I think there are more detail about shims |
About titanium heat conductivity : https://www.highpowermedia.com/blog/...duce-aero-drag
Ti alloy (some of ) may offer even more low heat conductivity..This is why pad shim made from titanium is better for sure(each top spec ap racing caliper comes with titanium pistons + titanium shims inside each piston.. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...c126213628.jpg |
