Blobeye Angel Eyes - Halo wiring help

Hi all,

First post having just picked up my first ever Scooby. It's a 2005 WRX.

I've picked up a pair of Angel Eye headlight replacements and fitted them yesterday, but I can't get the halo rings to work. All the other lights are fine.

The instructions that came with them are cr@p, and I spent all of last night searching online for help but came up with nothing.

There is a set of black & white wires running from each of the halos, which run into a small 'box' and then come out as a single set of wires.

My understanding is that I need to wire these up to the ground and side-light wiring loom. This has 3 wires running into it:
White/Red
Black
Green/Black

I used a multimeter to check the wiring loom, and initially I believed that this was the mapping:
White/Red - indicator
Black - ground
Green/Black - sidelight

I then used a clamp to run some extra bits of wire from the loom to connect up to the halos:
White - sidelight
Black - ground

When I switched on, nothing happenned... (The LED sidelights came on, but not the halos).

To try and rule it out, I then tried swapping the Green/Black on the loom with the Red/White, which is what you can see below (although I subsequently appreciate that probably wouldn't have made a difference...)

So my question is, has anyone else installed these, and if so how did you wire the halos?

Thanks in advance,
Will

You may have to run a cable from the sidelights to make them work.

Sadly Will the performance on Subaru headlights is poor. You have made it worse.

They look good but a good Maglite torch will perform better.
