SIGMA M30 ECU location?

Hi there
I have a 51 plate impreza 2.0l GL
the key kont work - so have been keypad entering code every time
trouble is now the keypad is broken too!!!
I have purchased new keypad from ebay - but cant locate the plug hole!!!
can anyone please offer advice on the location of the sigma M30 ECU on a 51 plate impreza?

secondly - if my replacement keypad is not the fault how difficult is it to entirely remove the M30?

many thanks

If it's a bug eye then it's above the steering column.

Found it...

Hi there
It is indeed behind the steering column
And a right pain in the bum to get to.
I had to remove bottom plastic below steering column
And the dash dials
The box is secured to the car with 2 12mm nuts... you have to undo these to access the 7mm nuts holding the box shut
Then its an easy swap plug n go.
So.. it took me a week to locate the box..
An hour or 2 to get it out
One minute to switch keyboard plugs
And an hour to put it all back together
And bobs my uncle it works
Next question...
Can i remove entirely this pain in the neck system?
What needs to be done?
I have already snipped the siren wires so its useless anyway
Thanks

What... for example... if i just unplugged the ecu entirely... would that be locked on... or off?
