Hack the camera down. If the gatso is gone, they can't take any pictures can they? ;)

John
there is a way I have heard mentioned, people say they have used it; but I don't know
when you get your fine send a cheque for a small amount too much, The magistates will return a cheque for the extra, If you do not cash this they cannot or don't put the points until the transaction is completed but you have paid your fine so the magistrates are happy

Another one is to find out when the machine was last calibrated, there is supposed to be a certain time limit which I think is pretty regular plus the form has to contain the signature of 2 certain ranking police officers
Or so I am told. There may be information on the net for this, I suppose it makes sense though that these machines cannot just go doing people without calibration

ease off on the gas :) I think it all comes down to 'a time n' a place', sorry m8 - and no, I'm not white as white - I got done for doing 90 in a 50 !

TBMeech 10 June 2002 08:42 PM

If its outside 14 working days since the cam flashed you and you have not recieved the Nip, then they cant do squat, allow 20 days from the incident for postage, been there done that as I had one come thru a month after the alledeged event and I sent it back since heard nothing :)

John 555 10 June 2002 08:43 PM

TBMeech,

How long ago was that ??

TBMeech 10 June 2002 08:55 PM

John,

In april, the nip came thru in may, so i sent it back it took 30 days to arrive, so i sent them a moody letter with it and heard nothing since :)

False numberplate - I was driving round with one for a year without realising and it never caused a problem. (Eventually found out when renewing tax and insurance that the supplying dealer had mixed up the digits on the original no. plate.) I decided to get it swapped but I sometimes wish I hadn't - it was the perfect excuse. Obviously if you get pulled over in person it could mean an extra set of points - but it avoids all the automated ones from cameras and plate readers.

Ha ha, nice one. Haven't laughed so much in ages.

Tiggs 12 June 2002 11:42 AM

so they build a camera for £0,000's and fit it for £0,000's but then dont realise that you can avoid the ticket by sending in the wrong payment- yeah right

TBMeech 12 June 2002 11:43 AM

The wrong payment thing is b@llocks, they just send the change back now lol
