Hi guys and girls,

Can anyone recommend a good dump valve for a 2008 wrx hatchback ?

Found this on eBay but wasn't sure if it's any good

The best dump valve is the one that come with your car that subaru spent a lot of time testing with it, its perfect :)

It's plastic though...I've been told that you can get better after market ones

Better in what way?

Matty81 09 May 2016 04:09 PM

Better air circulation...less risk of stalling

Or better air release meanin

Dump valves are still big in Essex then? :D

First time I've ever thought about buying one...only reason I am is because they are supposed to prolong the life of a turbo engine...if it's quiet all the better

Stick with the standard one. An after market dump valve will not help prolong the life of your engine any more than the standard unit. If you get a vent to air dump valve it will have the added bonus of reducing your engine life by helping your car slightly over fuel, bore wash and contribute to premature failure (All in theory though as I've never seen any hard evidence to date).

Each to their own though. I'd save your money and upgrade the WRX brakes to something better.

Oh right ok...thanks for the advice buddy

No problem. At the end of the day, it's your car and your money. Spend it and modify it how you wish. I did and I love mine!

BrownPantsRacing 09 May 2016 04:57 PM

Tell me about it! I'm 35 in July so I thought why not

BrownPantsRacing 09 May 2016 05:27 PM

Yep, you're only young once. Which in my case was a LONG time ago! haha. I've never taken fuel economy and running costs into consideration when buying my cars and I've always had serious fun! :)

Oh yessss! Saying that though costs me £50 to fill mine up and it lasts me 2 weeks lol
