The race to be the number 1 car media outlet
With the boom in car vlogging aided by more portable HD recording devices it's getting quite interesting just to see who can dominate and be the World's #1 outlet for car coverage.
Can Shmee, Mighty Car Mods or Clarkson's new show take the crown from Top Gear? lol, I'm the same. Half the time I have to watch HobbykidsTV due to bossy 4yo.
Good shout on 'Drive', totally forgot that one. |
Car content is so broad these days you need to almost sub-categorise it.
Between Car Vlogging to DIY/Modification shows to Movies and documentaries about cars as they're aimed at vastly different audiences. Which is why Top Gear as a franchise has done so well where its managed to land as a diluted middle ground that almost everyone in to cars can enjoy |

Some shows on youtube are great because they also drive modded cars of all ages (Jay Leno for example) but not many shows do before and after tests for something like a simple remap or bigger turbo. |

Harry's Garage Evo Autocar That's some effort from walking outside your house and filming a few fast cars! |

I like Roadkill. Don't think it will trouble any of the others in the list though...
|
Found a big franchise called Gumbal, probably the guys behind the rally. Big audience on both Facebook and Youtube.
|
You sad weirdo
|
You don't 'arf post some $hit Matt!
|
Just intrigued to see if Top Gear can be rivaled now the dynamic has changed. We have vlogging coming through big time, a new TG team and Clarkson's new show.
Admin ought to launch ScoobynetTV! Featuring member vids and the best JDM content from across the globe. Could make a pretty penny monetised! |
Interesting, http://vidstatsx.com/youtube-top-100...icles-channels
I'm guessing the website doesn't class 'Top Gear' as an 'Autos and Vehicles channel', lmfao. Shmee is 2272nd most viewed channel on youtube - http://vidstatsx.com/Shmee150/youtube-channel ...I have a sneaky suspicion 'Super Cars of London' will catch and pass 'Shmee150' eventually as he probably appeals to a wider target audience. He'd didn't inherit his wealth and he has an image many teenagers will be drawn to. He's kinda Hammond to Shmee's May. I still think in the long term the partnership of Burton, Wallace, Sam, Delanney will oust TG and Clarkson's new show in some guise. They've conquered social media and SKY are now dabbling with two of them, but I think there are bigger things to come from the quartet. |
Top gear is Clarkson so he will only be taking the title from himself.
|
I think Clarkson is making a mistake delaying the name of his new show, he's losing momentum and identity.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ring-show.html He ought to call it "British Cars & Alfa Romeo hour." |

Shmee has a co star now, Benzene Ben. I personally think he's sweet on Tim.
|
Jealous? :lol1:
|
Driving from Knightsbridge to Monaco via Geneva in Tim's 675LT, sounds like hell.
|
I was thinking more the bromance...
