Exe TC suspension

So recently I picked up some Exe TC fast road external reservoir coilovers.

I wanted to make sure that everything was good so I dropped by EXE-TC's head quarters in Exeter. I dropped in and had a chat with Joe who had a look over them and wanted to investigate one of them

So he invited me in to see what they do. He put it on a dyno that simulates all kinds of road surfaces, camber changes etc and logged the fault to a worn seal on the piston.

After discussing the options we decided to do a strip down and rebuild. I was expecting a week or so but they pushed on and stripped it before I even got back from the loo!

3 hours later and I have a fully rebuilt shock and got a tour round the workshop and got to watch them do it.

I have to say it was absolutely amazing to see and talk to the guys, they all have such a passion for the work and pushing the boundaries. They did a top job and I won't be using any other suspension on any of my cars!

Isn't great when people have / make time for customers and go that bit further ? Restores some faith in manufacturers , if only more were that way inclined ;) .

That's the thing, they are the manufacturer and don't deal with customers direct. They could have sent me back to a supplier to get it sorted and go through and send it back and forth etc.

To take the time out and fit me in to save another trip back to Cornwall etc was excellent. And they are really passionate about their product and understand and know it inside out

Excellent

They wouldn't touch mine so Ian Godney sorted them from IG Racing before I sold them

Why wouldn't they touch them?

bustaMOVEs 12 April 2016 05:43 PM

Cos he owns a pink car and that's not good for their reputation :)

:lol1: busta, They said they no longer offer the service on those coilovers...just the rally/race stuff these days.

There is that.....

For a while they wouldn't rebuild the fast road set ups as the company who supplied the seals etc folded and destroyed the tooling.

They have now made conversion kits so they fit the rally spec seals in them now

Edit - exactly that stu, all changed now

That'll explain it then, wish I could have kept them but wrong pcd I didn't want to get into re-drilling hub holes etc...as I sold the car for another while they were away being sorted.

That is the next issue for mine to sort as I will be going 5x114 in the winter.

I know Alyn can machine the hbus but I may see what exe tc can do about changing the suspension flanges seeing as they are so close....

I even got a personal email from the director today after having a good chat with her yesterday....

That explains why then. I contacted them a few years ago enquiring the same.
