My first Scoob - 2001 Impreza WRX Wagon
Hey all, I have bit the bullet and bought my first Impreza!
It's a 2001 Impreza WRX wagon. Safe to say I'm totally smitten with it! Here she is: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...172aeb68e9.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...1ddda85c51.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...5d2141d010.jpg I love the car! I had a look underneath today and sadly the front exhaust pipe from the manifold to the up pipe seems to have split! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...17b83f9b4f.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...c54c3c3c48.jpg So my first job will be get that off and changed as soon as I can, however, at present I am struggling to find a replacement part for it! (want OEM really) So if anyone knows where I can get one that would be ace! current plans are: Getting rid of the side reflectors on the wing (hideous!) Wheel refurb (possibly gold) Scouting out and treating any rust I find over summer. I'm sure that I will slowly add to it when I get the Scooby bug properly! and obviously, fixing that exhaust! |
And of course, on further research it is the heat shield surrounding the pipe that has broke, not the pipe itself. Scooby noob moment!

There pretty built proof the standard exhaust manifolds. Nice car, what kind of mileage has it done? You don't see many in black.

It's marked as black/blue on the v5. The black paint has a blue fleck to it, which is pretty cool! Certainly more interesting than the mk4 golf tdi I had before. |
Yea looks nice and standard. Black/blue you say, interesting.
I think most things are better than a Mk4 golf tdi, that has to be the worst of the golfs mk4. Its a big leap to Subaru owner ship thats for sure. |
That isn't the exhaust manifold, it's the heat shield that goes round it. They all rot there. If your exhaust had a hole that big, you wouldn't need to look under the car to know!
