Sigma alarm
 

Hi lads im stuck in a bit of trouble.. My 99 uk 22b has a sigma alarm fitted to it with keypad in glove box an fob on key.. But wen i open the car by the button it jus immediately locks itself again, an wont let the windows up or down? Everything else is working, she starts an the led flashes an goes on an off.. Is this all alarm related, or what could be the problem..

You can program the alarm to do just that so if you dont like it have a search for the programming info.

Right so what your saying is that the alarm has been programmed to lock itself immediately, so i have to try change that somehow

Found this wee circuit burned out, it seems to b a wee unit for the electric windows, can anyone tell me what would have caused this to burn out, or anyone have one off these I could buy??

Those are 4 relays so Id hazard a guess and say its the window relay card.
Looks like a track has burned thru on one of the relays but it may be a track common to all the relays operation. Its an hefty track thats gone so a bit of cuurent has passed thru it. Shame they aren t plug-ins so you could swap it with another from somewhere else in the car for trial purposes.Manufacturers tend to use a general purpose part throughout the car.Id suspect that component rather than the M30. Saying that, Ive just had a thought.. there is a door sensor on the M30 that senses the driver door open time. If it doesnt stay open long enough it thinks the deactivation was a mistake and sets the alarm again. I ll have a think.

If you search online and can use a solder iron its a 5 minute job.

I ll have a look-see if I can find one.

Hi how are you... I think i no what you mean here, i have changed a resistor and a transistor in this unit but it hasn't changed anything, id still be of the idea that a relay could be melted inside, what ever would of caused that?
Next thing I found out this evening, on the up and down switch for electric windows there is a blue an red wire cut and a loop wire took from it to the plug on this unit, and when i earth that wire the locks stay open now but the windows still dont work? Does that sound like anything you would off seen before?
I tried searching for a wirein diagram but nothing up..

Can't you just repair the broken track ?

I have soldered a wire and run solder ove the break in the joint and its seems to be ok, but still not making any difference??

Has the car always locked itself like you say and does it lock when you get in and drive the car.

Wel iv never drove the car, the car came to me damaged so iv it running now and this is how it is actin.. Cant even see a fuse for electric windows..

As stig said, resolder the burned out track and see wot happens. It may be age related metal fatigue but my 35yrs in electronics tends to go with the..its burned out for a reason.. scenario so watch for smoke and smells after.

Wel lads.. Well i re soldered the burned out piece and still nothing, so i worked out that it was a closure unit for the windows the four relays must of been 1 for each window so I popped out the relay that was on the the burned out part and switched it wih one for the back windows seeing as mine is 2 door and away it went.. I was glad to get it sorted..
So now i can remove the wee unit if i want to an link out the wires to the electric windows and it works without it to..
Because as you say it happen for a reason and I would be afraid of it causing a fire sometime? So i will play it by ear..
