Tyre choice
Hi, I have a v6 type r with dccd and do a lot of drag racing, it also gets pushed hard on B roads and with 450 BHP i need good grippy tyres, I'm currently on toyo t1r's but fancy a change, been looking at Yokohama ad08 and the nankang track tyres as well as a few others.
Would like people's opinions and choices please , thanks. Oh and they are 215/40/17 |

Ns2r's in 120 or Federal RS-R's which are 140, Any one seen or tried the new Nanakang yet...looks awesome but more along the lines of an A048 but in an 80 compound :D

Yeah i go smeatharpe a lot, sure I met you last time, was it you who had gearbox issues, thanks for the replies will look into the ad08r and nankang 120 tyres a bit more

Just a question, what do you think of the t1r's at that sort of power?

Crap in a word ;)

Was yours the white type r? I might have been lucky and the gearbox may have escaped serious damage. My hub and drive shaft didn't though... |
Just so you know the ns2r in 120 compound don't seem to last 2 minutes, so for that reason I went for ad08r, great tyre.

Cheers guys good feedback here, I've got the blue type r mate, glad you escaped gearbox issues, what happened to the hub and shaft? I guess sheared the splines. The toyo t1r's have been okay but just don't feel the grip now I've upped the power, maybe going a little more soon as well.
I think I will price up the ad08r and ns2r and have a think, thanks again guys. |
