What size tyres on 18 x 8.5j 53 pcd ?

Hi.
I`m struggling to find 245 40 18`s in a semi slick/fast road for these wheels ( Bridgestone Re070`s are oem, available only in Japan) Yoko AD08`s are available, but I wanted to try Nankang ns2r`s, available only in 235 40 18, or 255.
What range of sizes can be fitted to 18 x 8.5j 53pcd, or is it unwise to stray from oem?
