Gearbox/Clutch question

I don't have any particular issues getting in and out of gears, but they aren't half notchy gearboxes aren't they! My gear oil was changed at 72k with 75w90 (unsure of brand) and I've now done 85k so I don't think I need a change. Although I do have enough Redline MT90 to do a change, so am tempted to see if this helps it at all. It's just that sometimes 5th gear can seem a bit too notchy.. Anyone else?

Also, does anyone have the same experience with when they let off the accelerator there's a small delay before the revs start falling, when changing gears? I feel like you have to be quite patient inbetween changing gears. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

This can go one of a few ways.
Either the synchro is fewked or it may be the box needs some minor attention.
It could be death!
Easy stuff first. Check the linkage for wear or see if new bushes need fitting. You can take the rear casing off the gearbox and have the main shaft nut tightened, it may only move a fraction but helps.
You are best off getting a specialist dealer have a look at it or drop you pants for a main dealer.

I've heard all subies are like this. My dad had a WRX 10 years go and said he experienced the same thing with the delay in the throttle.

I will look into the gearbox first with a fluid change and changing the rubber doobrey that sits around the gearknob under the leather gaiter.
