When you bump in to your old car... :(

Just having a look through the classifieds and found an ad for my old wrx, not what I was expecting

Looks like another one for the scrapper, advertised as rolling shell minus various parts.

I know it was only a wrx but I feel some cars you create a bond with, and with this being my first Impreza back in the day I was over the moon when I took delivery.

I know the owner after me cracked a piston and had the engine sent off and rebuilt at API. Maybe the rebuild was one bill to much....

O well.

Or maybe they got fed up waiting for api to do the actual build lol

I know what you mean; my hatch spec c arrived at the port today, but what I have really been dwelling on is not the excitement of the new car, but having to sell my blob wagon. Driving it today I felt quite sad !!Mind you, I had a tear in my eye when I sold my first work van, an ex BT Transit, years back, and that was a pile of crap by that time !

had this just the other day

px'd the wife's C2 GT, well over a year ago and now seen it twice in the last fortnight in the next village, was a cracking little car

It's funny because I didn't get the same feeling when I sold on my Widetrack..mind you it was the 3rd Impreza I had owned, maybe it's a first car thing.

I had this with my first Impreza also but not with any of my other cars did I get this feeling only when I sold my classic. I sold it to a guy who lived around an hour away from me and had a tear in my eye when it left but was happy it was going an hour away so wouldn't see it that often if again until a few weeks back a mate of mine says your old classic is parked in my street quite often, I have since found out its 10 minutes away from mine and now dog rough but I still miss it.

Back in the eighties I built a hot rod. It was a 1927 ford roadster with a small block Chevy engine and all the suspension and exhaust was done by me in highly polished stainless steel. I sold it to an antique gun dealer in Denmark but has now gone over the pond to the USA so I'm told.
This car means so much to me, I wish It was in my garage now:cry:

Weird that we get emotionally attached to certain cars. My misses thinks I have a problem from the way I talk about them or miss them. :cuckoo:

We do get sentimental at such times I was gutted wen I saw my first ever newage dead but unburied!!
Totally understand how you feel pal:thumb:
