Cat C value

* just noticed I've put the thread in the wrong section, if someone could move it to general discussion that would be great*

I've been toying with the idea of getting a second car to keep the miles and the crap weather off my blobeye sti. I came across a late, classic impreza, turbo 2000, wagon in mica red. The body work looks in good condition, no rust on the arches, good service history and a tidy interior. No modifications to the engine and a 100k on the clock.

The car was recorded a cat c in 2012 when it had a new front wing and bumper, which according to the owner came to more than the value of the car. And is why the car is listed as a cat c.

Just interested in what you lot think it maybe worth. A lad at work reckons you roughly take 25% off the value for a cat c?

Cheers Paul

I personally wouldnt worry about it. I work in a bodyshop and a car like that would get put on a cat c/d for very minor damage. Yet a 35k merc c63 etc would get repaired for something like a new rear quarter. I brought an escort gti(granted not the best car) in 2001. The car was 2 years old and got put on a cat d as every single window had been smashed by vandals. Also there is not many used cars on the road that have not had some kind of damage and been smart repaired.
