whats your thoughts guys?

I bought a 2002 bugeye with just 80K miles back in December 2015, sold with a misfire, dealer said to replace coils and plugs...sold as seen

First the clutch went (cost me 550 to fix) Now the bottom end has gone and it needs a rebuild.... do you think the dealer should front the cost of the rebuild (as I can't afford the cost at all) or it it just bad luck on my part? Do I have a leg to stand on if I called the dealer? Only driven it a few hundred miles!

All advice welcomed!

There's no such thing as sold as seen when buying from a dealer, did you sign to say that you purchased it as either a trade sale or salvage?

Got a 6 month rejection period too.

Get on to citizens advice.

Unless you signed a disclaimer stating sold for parts or spares then you legally have a 6 month fit for purpose warranty if bought from a dealer who is vat registered

Sold with no warranty I wouldn't of thought you have 6 months to take it back if it breaks?
Might be wrong tho?
If I bought a car from a garage, screwed it around, blew the engine up,could I get my money back?

Not saying this is what you have done jimbo by the way, sounds like you've had rotten luck with it.
Hope you get it all sorted mate.

If a major component goes, you are covered legally if you persue.
Most don't bother, garages try fob you off but that's the law as far as I know it.

My mate got a new turbo under this legislation after 3 months of owning car, obviously garage didn't want to know until he went legal route

Cool.
Stick to your guns then jimbo, get some money out of them.
Might be a little more difficult as you bought it with known faults, all depends on what you signed really.

I belive if it was sold/signed for as parts or spares then that's the way out for garages

sold as spares or car for breaking. But if you buy a car on those terms and expect it to be a top motor i think you have to be a bit daft.
