Fitting a Works Bell 116s steering wheel boss and aftermarket steering wheel

2 Attachment(s)
Hi,

Got my Works Bell 116s for my 2003 Blobeye wagon delivered today after having issues with a MOMO boss that isn't designed to fit a newage!!

I've fitted the airbag resistor and that works, but the horn wiring is a mystery as shown in the photos. I've been supplied a spade connector with 1 wire connected to a green plug which will not fit anywhere to the loom, is there a way of adapting the wiring to utilise he OMP centre push horn?

Also the boss didn't line up when the clock Spring housing was centred, so the steering wheel is slightly off, not too much of an issue as the play makes it not obvious and the auto cancel works perfectly.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi mate have actually just fitted the hkb boss to an 03 blob this week.

Does the green connector plug into the white horn connector from the loom? I think you have the wrong connector there and it's actually for a classic or sti (not certain on that).

From what I figured out, the horn loom works off of a single wired live circuit and is earthed to the boss which would complete the circuit when the horn button is pressed. My omp button has a little brass looking spring that when fitted into the steering wheel, would rest against the inner metal of the boss (if this makes sense). This creates the earth.

From the white connector from the clocks print loom, I believe it is the hole on the far right if the connector is upright (clip holder at top). This is the only connector that is live.

I believe if you put a wire in the and then earth it on the boss you should hear the horn go off.

Easiest way would be to order a new connector (no idea where from I'm afraid), if not then wiring from that connector on the loom into a spade connector which would connect onto the spade on the horn button.

Hope this helps, I am by no means an expert but this is the rough idea I had from fitting mine.
