Cape Verde

Me and the misses normally try and get a week in the sun in March, last few years have flown 10 hours plus, leaving the little one with the in-laws.

This year am looking to take her with us, she is only 4 so was looking for something a little closer, not a lot of choice i you want sun that time of year, so was looking at Cape Verde, only hours straight down.

Read some good stuff and some bad stuff, think weather should be ok, but windy and read a lot about people breaking arms and legs in the sea, so that will be off the agenda.

Fancy Boa Vista over Sal, anyone been and able to share ?

I have been to Boa Vista, Windsurfing - so "windy" was a bonus

Pretty 3rd world if I am honest (which I quite like, the rawness an all)

Food was fantastic where we were, not in a "resort" (wierd Italian influence)

Long flight, not sure it has much over the canaries, which I love anyway

We (boys surfing holiday) went in novemberish - weather was fantastic

I have pics posted on this forum

Gambia could still be cheap ?

same distance

Canaries are good but thought this may be a little warmer and somewhere different, both things I was looking for.

Looked at Gambia, but could only find a couple of options and neither really catered for kids, need something to keep the little one entertained.

Some good options in Mexico, but didn't want to be on a plane that long with the little one as only going for a quick week.

They are further south, so will always get better weather

Imo unless you really really need guaranteed sun in the UK winter months

The canaries will always be a better deal

I have been to Tenerif in November (Windsurfing) and had great weather

I suspect with all the sh1t down in Egypt etc the demand for winter sun will only benefit the caneries
