JDM TWINCROLL SOUND

Hi All

I've been looking at some youtube videos of the JDM Twinscroll sounds and to be honest I don't get why they are so highly rated, it sounds kind of dull and not really puts a smile on my face compared to my uk blob.

They kinda of sound like a Toyota supra/ type r vetch.

What your opinions.

Sounds amazing on my car with 3" cobra system.
Well I think so anyway :D

The Pink Ninja 15 January 2016 02:33 PM

JDM soundtrack all day long, just like an Evo : p

The Trooper 1815 15 January 2016 02:40 PM

Low down burble then the throaty rasp.

IMO twin scroll is about spooling performance NOT sound.

Mine howels on boost and instant spool, would never part with it for a single scroll.

Mine sounds like a sports bike at high revs, the jdm is a far better package than the uk version.

Hmm I wish it just had the normal burble sound but with the JDM specs, that would be the best combo.

Rbon91 15 January 2016 11:46 PM

If I knew how to upload videos have a couple of good ones

ZANY 16 January 2016 08:01 AM

What combo??

Let's say if you wanted the burble on your jdm scoob ladies and gentlemen What combo of unequal length headers and turbo would you put on a jdm widetrack bhp wanted would be bout 420 and a blitz nur spec to finish it off and would this be advisable on stock internals??

rickya 16 January 2016 10:16 AM

Thats what they should sound like ;)

ossett2k2 16 January 2016 11:16 AM

That's what I'm talking about rickya :luvlove:

Why would you make your car worse? Lol

Turbovin 16 January 2016 02:58 PM

I don't like the burble with the OEM unequal manifold, it makes the engine sound very low rev. It's a bit better with an aftermarket unequal manifold but I would say the burble thing is very overrated. Perhaps if you can get it to sound like the group a car..

I prefer the raspy sound of the JDM manifold on high revs. It doesn't sound like a dull EVO or similar, very different.

Some various clips I have found

Just a curious wonder:wonder: if anyone's tried it on a jdm really not if I wanted to make owt slower really, and if I wanted the burble that bad it'd be easier just buying a uk sti and I wouldn't be asking this questioni :D so in simple terms it was just a curious question and if you can't answer it the why answer with another question :cuckoo:

Hmm sounds a bit like a type r.

banny sti 16 January 2016 06:05 PM

The burble is boring once you've had them for a few years and normally the loudest/most burbly ones are the slowest ones in my experience...

ossett2k2 16 January 2016 07:13 PM

I hear what you're saying banny,I've had 3 which had the burble, great as it sounds the car I have now with the twin scroll sounds like nothing I have heard before and imo sounds amazing on full chat :D

I have to say I prefer the burble, but I also prefer quick spool and low-down torque, so.....

RAGGY DOO 16 January 2016 08:02 PM

jdm is for the more mature scooby owner i always associated burble with young chavs

arumdevil 16 January 2016 08:11 PM

There is that Raggy, but that's not the cars fault. It just sounds so good (for a 4-pot)!
