Tyres for Classic

Hi Guys & Gals
Much asked question I am sure, but what tyres are people in the know using at present. I need 205-50 FR16 and am currently on Falken FK425's which are not nice 'cos they tramline something awful. ;-(

Toyo's are pretty good...well I like them anyway.

Thanks Alcazar, Toyo's were one of the go to tyre's back in the day when I first bought the car in the year 2000.
I have been looking at Star Performer UHP 1 205/50 ZR16 87W or Pirelli Cinturato P7 205/50 R16 87W ECOIMPACT.

Tyres do seem comparatively cheap now, last time I bought them I am sure that I paid around £900 for the 4. ;-(

OK, so it seems no one is keen on my possible choices. Any other ideas please.

I'm currently running Nokian ZLine 205/50 16 on my '99 classic. Really excellent, especially in the wet. I'll be buying them again. You won't find a supplier in the UK, but I ordered mine online at Oponeo and got them 2 days later.

Thank for this recommendation, do you find that they do a decent milage?

Sadly Aberdeeshire a tad far from Kent. ;-) Even in a Scooby.

I've done 14000 miles on them so far, (hardly any motorway mileage, mainly uh, 'spirited' A and B road driving) and there's 5mm of tread left on all 4. I don't think that's too bad, particularly since they grip like nothing else I've ever run, wet or dry, hot or cold.

Thanks for the recommendation guys.
Unless anyone has anything against them, or know of something better, I guess these are going to be my next boots. ;-)

Have a look at hancooks. I have had a set on my classic for few months now after various budget and performance tyres. So far the hancooks have been great. Great value and great performance in wet and snowy conditions. Yet to have a summer on the but a lot of homework into them showed great reviews.

Which Hancooks are you using?
