Why don't you go newage coilpack route if upping power? Will be a lot more reliable in long run.

Coil pack off a newage and loom off JT innovations and direct plug n play into you v5 type r. Good for high power and more reliable.

It's not direct pnp. Will require a suitable ecu. If it's stock then will need aftermarket

No it won't, direct pnp with JTI loom on v5 as said. V1-4 requires a bit of diy modding.
Nothing to do with aftermarket ecu.
