Netflix or similar......

Thinking about getting some sort of movie streaming service as theres sh*te all on the TV of late. Is the likes of Netflix worth the ££ or are there better services available? Would like a good selection of up-to-date stuff and older 80's up stuff if possible.
I run all Apple hardware so can stream from my iPhone, iPad or iMac via or direct from my Apple TV. I'd rather not be added any new hardware if I can help it :)

I have Netflix and Nowtv and both have their appeals but I have just discovered nowtv passes on ebay so I now get movies and entertainment for about £7 a month and that includes live tv channels.

I just checked out the link you mentioned and since I needed to know quality I picked the film you said, what a crap cam that is and it could be downloaded anywhere. Surely if you want to watch a good film it's worth waiting a few more months for a proper blueray?

+1 kodi
Runs on pc/Mac or android

dpb 03 January 2016 11:45 PM

Do you actually need the hardware of these stick variants , I mean can't you just plug laptop to t.v. And then their software

ossett2k2 03 January 2016 11:50 PM

Yes can be loaded onto any PC,Mac or android Device, plug into TV or stream if your TV has wifi so no need for stick or extra hardware :thumb:

riiidaa 04 January 2016 03:51 AM

Now TV entertainment pass if you like boxsets is cheaper via 3 month pass - code purchased from GAME website @ £15

Is this legal David ?

dpb 04 January 2016 11:26 AM

I think someones hacked his account

jazzyjembreaze 04 January 2016 01:09 PM

Now TV is def better than Netflix
The latter just always seems to be old content & hardly updates , not saying Now TV is all roses but it updates & does have a wider selection

Pleased that worked out for you, it's a lot cheaper than paying Sky monthly :D

Markus 06 January 2016 01:56 PM

I don't actually have normal TV / cable any longer, and haven't had for around two years, and don't overly miss it. I've got Netflix and also unblock-us, which allows me to switch regions for Netflix. My apple TV is setup so I can switch to whatever region I want, usually I leave it on USA. My xbox uses the default settings, so picks up Canadian Netflix.

I believe it's costing me around $145 a year for both services. My normal monthly cable bill was around $70, so it's quite a saving.

**jay** 06 January 2016 02:08 PM

No another one these threads can see the do gooders coming along already.
But yeh kodi is perfect ;) lol

slash920 06 January 2016 03:16 PM

dpb 06 January 2016 04:09 PM

cripes , its ONLY just occurred to me that if everybody hacked their way into watching football for free ,footballers would start getting reasonable wages !

I don't watch football anyway , but this sounds great !

nardoblue 06 January 2016 05:43 PM

Downloaded kodi to my android phone and stream it to my chromecast, result, don't pay for anything these days

+Doc+ 07 January 2016 05:10 PM
