Classic DCCD bulb

Hi all my DCCD bulb has stopped working, does anyone know the specs of the bulb and where I can get one?

Is it on the instrument panel?

It's about a ten minute job to remove the panel. I'd be replacing all illumination bulbs then at the same time, they are W5W, aka 501. The DCCD one can then be removed and identified.

Decent car shops keep them, cheaper at motor factors.

in the instrument cluster and needs grain of wheat type bulbs soldering in when i last did one, strange if they are all out could be something else.

All sorted. One the bottom one was out. Sourced and fitted a 5mm grain of wheat bulb from maplin. All push fit no soldering required.

I would have been surprised if it did need soldered...even the switch illumination is wrap around, not soldered.

There's a spare at the bottom of the dccd lights, I was too late it posting lol as you've done it. I had the same problem where my bottom bulb was out, and correct just push fitting.

A spare?

spare place where it looks like a holder should be?

bulb on mine is the 'open' position bulb

i checked with a meter and deffo power there

bulb is just popped lol...actually popped now as i crushed it with a pair of pliers trying to pull out 😂

I managed to unpick the legs now

they are like 1.25 for 3 on ebay so thats what il do

not sure if il need it though as im having a system adapted with an auto and manual feature similar to dccdpro so i may wnd up just putting surface mount led's in the cluster

wel see

fully mappable system to!

handbrake to open has never worked and decided i may be better getting most out of dccd system on track with auto mode!

Yes a spare, that's not used for anything, in the row of bulbs, the very bottom one has a bulb in but is not functional, I presumed it was a spare so removed it and used it in my full open dccd light as that one had gone.
Can't remember how it came out, think very carefully with nose pliers. But wasn't hard.

6 bulbs in my one

first broken one is open

top 6th one is locked

if i move thumbwheel to fully open i have no lights on but 12 volta to where popped bulb is ☹️

Ah, you can see where the spare would of been, i think at some point they used a automatic type cluster for dccd and put them in the later R/RA.
