Most men are becoming more hairy, where as most women are becoming less hairy...... if you know what i mean :norty: |
Definetly odd times.
...clean shaven too :thumb: |
Me too.
Had a Mexican style moustache for years after the late 60's early 70's made it almost mandatory, shaved it off when it went white in one small patch, looked like I had shaved a hole in it. |
stubble , as always
until it gets too long then its back to skin still staggered by the price , TWO, bic disponsibles in supermarket in Zim $ 1.6 . I asked girlfriends nephew what blokes do - he said they visit barber once month |
Beard and even stubble doesn't look good on every man. Not everyone is Jeremy Corbyn, you know.
|
Clean shaven for me, I feel scruffy without a shave every day:thumb:

I've had a goatee/stubble for years, only trim it off when I've got a full beard again. Too bone idle to do it every day! :lol1: The only time I clean shave is for special occasions but I still leave a short goatee :D

Even the moon face Leonardo DiCaprio looks ridiculous when he grows a beard for certain film roles. You have to have a thin or somewhat chiselled face for a starter, if you want a beard. If you already look like a fat cat, don't make yourself look any fatter ffs! |
Clean shaven, mainly because I can;t grow a proper beard.
Shave everyday, but have gone a week or two in the past when on holiday but just looks like a bit of stubble even after that amount of time, is ridiculous am in my 40's ffs, not a hairy person at all. |
Clean shaven for me too. I use a traditional style DE razor. It's all the 20-30 year olds who are going for that big beard hipster look. IMO it looks awful.
|
Clean shaven or a bit of stubble I trim with a long hair trimmer on an electric razor. Every guy this year either has a beard or pretends to do MMA or both. Therefore it's best to do neither. :lol1:

I have a giant beard just now. Just go through cycles of having and not having a beard, for the variety, plus I'm bald so I am compensating...
Missus actually likes it. I like it 'cause it's cold out there and the beard keeps my face warm! |
Got myself a stubble trimmer a few months ago.
0.4mm every morning and takes about 5 mins - brilliant. |
Full time beard here, had it for about 10 years and I'm 31. I get horrible shaving rash when I clean shave so it's very, very rare I do it. Usually keep my beard about 3/8-1/2" long with a number '0' on top (I've been a baldy for about 10 years too).
|
Bearded 90% of the time. On the cusp of stubble length generally then whip it off every two or three months to give the face a bit more UV and air.........
It's more the unwillingness to shave every two/three days than anything else. Some of this Edwardian Cricketer/Hipster guff is a bit too contrived to be trendy really. |
There's another thing with this beard business. Some men, at their mid-life crisis, ensure to grow salt n' peppa, rough looking beard; much like Corbyn's. It's up to them what they do with their beard, but to some eyes, it looks terribly messy. Corbyn's in his 60's, but some much younger men feel the need to display via their beard that they have attained optimum maturity. I don't know why. They don't need to hide going grey, but the show of the 'new you' i.e. all wise and grown up via messy and uneven beard is a weird one. They needn't dye it or anything, not at all. But they can trim it evenly, at least, if they insist on having one.

Chin strap and tash for me, always had a tash, then did the goatee for a few years and now I let the sides grow in but trim them as I have holes unless I let it grow long which tends to irritate me, so it's usually very short or looks like the beginning of growing one.
Partly because I get in growing hairs if I clean shave, which I then cant shave for about a week while they sort themselves out or I could shave and end up looking like the inside of a pomegranate. I tried using safety razor and a cut throat razor which I really like the idea of owning a few really nice cut throat razors some nice brushes and proper shaving creams etc but it still didn't agree with me, so I just ended up sticking with electric trimmer and keep the beard so that the hairs stay on the outside of my skin and don't curl back. Hazards of being half Jamaican is curly hair, does have it's benefits though :norty: All year tan. :D |
Mark E. Smith of The Fall suggested a few months ago that beards should be taxed.
|
Stubble for the past 20 years, sometimes let it grow out into an urban beard or shave it back to a goatee, wife prefers the goatee :norty:
|
hair clippers no. 1 on my beard :)
|
Anyone else think that Graham Norton's beard looks flipping ridiculous? Seriously, why do blokes feel the need to do that? Is it simply because they think it's fashionable at the moment? It honestly makes you look 10-20 years older. I genuinely have no idea why you'd want to grow it. We're not cavemen anymore!
|
Stubble, long stubble, short stubble, repeat. Since 2000 I think. Even the wife wouldn't let me clean shave for our wedding as she's never known me clean shaven.
Not sure I'd go complete lumberjack beard though. |
^^^ Yep - saw Graham Norton on Telly the other day - nearly fell off the sofa.... WTAF!!!
|
Do any of you have proper @rsekicking beard that you plat or comb with a cat brush etc.? My neighbour's humongous son has a foot long  ginga beard. That ex-goth body builder has one severe look going for himself. You wouldn't ever want to cross him, if you can help yourself.
