Stealth Sub Enclosure in Wagon

Currently looking at building my own stealth sub enclosure for my wagon. I've seen plenty of examples on google but wanted to know if anyone's made one from scratch? Seems there was a supplier in America selling them fairly cheap but nothing much in the UK.

I've currently got a double din and uprated Pioneer speakers but it's still really lacking some punch!

I built one for my Legacy estate, fitted it where the original free-air McIntosh sub woofer was.
Used a very cheap 8" sub, just in case the whole lot didn't work.
It did work, much better than the original, but it's very subtle bass, it ain't gonna rupture my kidneys.
It's fed from a Vibe 300w amp under the drivers seat.

Exactly the sort of thing I was look for :thumb:, also hadn't thought about using an 8" sub to save more space. I'm only looking for a subtle improvement, my old car had a bose system with 10" sub as standard so I'm missing the thump a bit!

it's a cheap 20 quid BassFace sub, there are much better ones out there!
The mounting depth was a problem behind the rear quarter panel, hence the weird shape box, which is only about half the capacity it should be, but at least its a box!
I have a nice 10" Pioneer sub spare, but there is no way it would fit in there.

I just made a false floor out of mdf raised it about 7/8cm mostly to accommodate a full size spare (can't be arsed with space savers because I travel across europe a few times a year) the plus side of this arrangement was that it made room for my 12" kenwood sub, couple of suitcase type clamps and some foam carpet underlay and jobs a good un, amp under the passenger seat, vibrates the whole car mind.

Mine is also a wagon and obviously I removed the cubby box original thing that was in there.

I did look into adapting the floor however I quite often have boxes, bikes, car parts etc in the back and I was a bit worried about damage. The 8 or 10" mounted to the side with a cover to protect the sub is probably the best option at the moment.
