New member help with jdm/uk variants

Hello

I've been doing some research about buying a Sti with the 2.0l engine

I'm struggling to find info on the jdm/uk bug eye and blob eye differences and does the jdm hawk eye run the same engine

Which has the most reliable engine , am I right in thinking the jdm cars have forged Pistons ?

Thanks in advance for any replies :thumb:

The JDM will be superior in most area's, engines are twin scroll in blob form, more power and torque though they are equal length manifolds so you lose the burble but gain a rally car sound.
Better power delivery, usually have A-DCCD and quick rack over the UK cars, higher revving, great all round cars :)

^^ 2.0 Avcs engines and twin scroll turbo with equal length manifold on jdms

I have owned both.

The JDM is technically the better car, and I doubt anyone could argue with that, but I prefer the UK. Why?......it just has more character and I enjoy the drive / power deliver more than I did in the JDM. I think when you take away that classic burble, you take away a big part of the Impreza, it's a trademark.

That's my 10 pence lol

What power can each engine handle reliably?
