well - personally thats the reason I dont do battery resets cos my alarm starts going off when it loses power and it freaks the neighbours!
mines a cobra as well btw .... s |
Alarm should have its own back up battery but make sure you have the PIN for the Stereo handy!!

If you're nimble enough ;) why not just use the connectors under the steering column to reset the ECU. Once you have found the connectors it is a 5 minute job. IMO it is much easier & quicker than going down the battery disconnection route.

Thanks all...
Reset the ECU via the under-dash connectors in the end. It was a quick job and not as risky as I thought it might be. Have yet to notice any real difference though... how long would one normally expect to wait until the ECU 'adjusts' itself? Regards, Twobeers |
Hi all
I want to reset my ECU this weekend and thought disconnecting the battery for an hour would be the safest bet. If I do this, will it affect anything else like the car alarm for example (Cobra)? Btw, the car stereo doesn't matter ;) Regards, Twobeers [Edited by twobeers - 6/8/2002 12:58:52 PM] |
