Yes it is a bleed valve. The ECU is in the passenger footwell.

Boost figures are OK

OK, here's the story. Against what my head told me to do, I bought a car that was modified, and I'm just trying to figure out what exactly has been done and whether it's been done right or not.

It's a MY93 WRX. I know it has a Scoobysport exhaust system with no cats from the turbo back, the "up-pipe" or whatever you call it is a standard Subaru item, I think, it has Subaru stamped on it anyway.

It also has an HKS induction kit (big mushroom shaped filter).

I've has what I reckon is an overboost problem, but as yet have been unable to confirm this as I had no boost gauge until last night.

OK, on a normal run, I'm seeing 12psi normally, with a peak of 15psi. If I floor it in (for example, it's not actual gear related) 3rd, it goes to 12, change at redline, floor it again and it goes up to 15psi. Is this normal? At what psi would the ecu sense overboost, I thought it was lower than 15psi?

Second thing: What the hell is this doo-hickey?

It's plumbed into the thing mounted on the left-hand suspension turret, which I'm guessing is the wastegate solenoid, and is therefore bleeding off some of the signal to acheive higher boost before the wastegate opens? Waste of time, or worth having?

Lastly, where's the ECU located? I want to make sure it's standard.

TIA
