Alan & imobaliser with low battery
 

Hay guys got locked in the car y-day and alarm was going off for 3hrs until battery went more than less flat (couldn't turn the starter at all) went for a spin after jump start to try recharge was oki all night then this morning it started going off again, anyone exsperianced this is it low power in the battery ?

Happened to me ,l bought a new battery before testing the old one,as l was about to undo the live connection l found it to have worked loose so basically wasted £60,so a few basic checks and a volt metre might be your saviour,look for about 14volts going in to the battery with the engine running eliminate s the alternator so test the battery for its voltage at night and again in the morning to see if its draining,should remain the same 12 volt,hope this helps

Checked the connectors there all nice and tight, leaning more to the battery at the moment as its been on charge in the house for close to 12 hours and its still not ready

Once a battery loses it's charge it can damage cells. Doesn't matter what you do then you'll need new battery.

You where spot on cells where fried got a new 1 no more problems on locking any more

If the battery ever gets low or you think it's low put charger on to help fire up car.

If it's low and recharged it's normally fine.

But if you try to start is fries the cells.

The new age UK cars have trackers fitted standard that can drain battery without you knowing. I start mine if not in use every week.

Lots of guys fit the trickle charges.

If the tracker is deactivated they do not draw current but unless the lights or window heater etc is on they Newage alternators do not operate properly.
