help with vf35

Hi, I bought a vf35 turbo for an upgrade on my bugeye wrx, ive got a couple of questions if I may.. I'm needing to know what is needed on the plumbing side of things, example there is 3 holes in the turbo, pic below.

Ive read about a banjo bolt? Can any of the bits be used from my td04? Can anyone shine some light on what is needed in fitting this?

Also seems to only be 2 studs, will I need to buy 3 more?

Plumbing should be like for like, some people want to use the oil banjo bolt that came with the turbo though. With my vf24 I just reused my td04 one. 3 new studs required too yea.

One for oil and two for water.

I needed all the pipes for my VF48 turbo which is practically identical to the VF35 unit.

I purchased one of these and am still using it now. Great product.

Yea, just transfer the fittings over. The oil feed hard pipe can crack at the join, I fitted a braided hose in its place as it gives a little more flexibility.

Ah cool, how long did it take to come with it being from Japan, ive never bought anything from other countries is it not a pain with the import charge ect

Also bit of a long shot, but does anybody know part numbers for the studs as I need 3.

you can get different grades of steel though. M10 x 1.25 is the size, 40mm or longer required.

Was here as fast as a UK delivery to be honest and no additional import duties paid. Good service from them.

It says its for the roller bearing Turbos, sure it will be fine for the vf35? Also was it as simple as paying then waiting for it to turn up, just it says import duties charges are the buyers responsibly

Email the seller. I asked for the kit that would fit my vf48 and they sent me that link. I ordered it, it arrived fast, I paid no duty at all and everything fitted perfectly for me.

They make turbos and these parts themselves, they are a very big company and very helpful. I have had no problems to date with any of the parts I used from them in that kit.

I'd say just email them and check it will fit your vf35.

thanks, I messaged them, they replied saying it will fit just the oil feed restrictor is bigger, so said leave anote on the PayPal saying sleeve bearing turbo, so I'm guessing they would just swap the restrictor for the correct one

Is the oil feed restrictor the banjo bolt? Or are they separate

Zebravanman 04 October 2015 10:53 AM

I replaced my TD05 for a VF34, the oil restrictor (approx 1mm) was in the banjo bolt itself. I replaced the setup for a braided flexi with in line oil filter and went for a -AN fitting male male to swept 90, there was then a small fitting (same size as a match head) which fitted into the end of swept 90 which was the 1mm oil restrictor or there abouts - job done.
I also swapped my water in/out pipes from banjo to male male then braided hose (mines a custom build).
just another way of doing it really, but if you are running a ball bearing turbo you must run an oil restrictor otherwise you will destroy it (i've done it !).

Thanks for all the reply and help. I decided to go ahead and buy the fitting kit which arrived today, can anybody point out which is the oil feed restrictor and what size the hold should be for the vf35
