Coolant leak
 

Got a coolant leak!
Classic gc8 2.0 sti n ref
Not from anywhere I can see ( radiator/ header/ silicone pipes)
Looks to be coming from a cross metal pipe that I can't see.
Water is coming from the timing belt cover.

Had car of road a little while so somethings sy of got rusty
Any coolant diagrams going or any thoughts

warm the car up, open the bonnet and rev the car from the engine bay and watch for tiny jets of water/steam. It could well be the upper rad pipe or the plastic end piece of the rad itself...been through 3 in 6 and a half years myself.

There's two crossover pipes, the front one is low down ans does suffer from rust. It's a fairly easy change and not dear, circa £25. Change coolant at the same time.

The other is on top of the engine and also can leak.

IF YOU DO DRAIN THE COOLANT, PLEASE LOOK UP ON HERE HOW TO REFILL WITHOUT AIRLOCKING AS THERE IS NO KNOWN WAY TO BLEED THE SYSTEM.

AND IF YOU AIRLOCK IT, YOU CAN KNACKER THE HEAD GASKETS:(

I changed the water pump gasket before i took of road but not pump. It was ok at time but
Some thing must have corrosion .
The water in header is circulating so pump seems ok?
Can see nothing from top, got underneath and its dripping fro around water pump and on top of exhaust from middle timing cover.
Took radiator out and removed the end timing covers to have look, then put the rad back in and ran up still leaking .
Next step water pump gasket and maybe pump and lower crossover pipe

With the rad out, you can see the crossover pipe, it's low down on the front of the engine.

You ARE refilling properly, aren't you? I've lost count of the number of folk who have airlocked the system after working on it, including professionals who should know better!

Just bought a crossover pipe and water pump, BUT
Not happy with the rust on wings and inner, also rear arb mounting point and rear parts
Might have to scrap��
Really want back on road was a great car don't know what to do!
