steering coloum bulkhead
hi i got a problem with steering coloum were it goes through bulkhead/firewall.
its just pi--ing in the wind as it goes through,is bolted steering wheel end. there a white looks nylon bush or similar at end of coloum before it goes through bulkhead should that be fixed to the car. car 2000sti jdm. with adjustable coloum . cheers dan |
Got this on my classic too. Got no reply to my question so sort of figured out there should be a large grommet type ring with grooves around its outer edge to fit into the hole and hold the plastic or nylon bush in place. Tried contacting a Subaru dealer and he didnt even know what the bulkhead was, never mind locate the replacement rubber seal

May have to remove the column , lube the grommet and gently guide it back intoo place

Its not fixed at that point there should be a rubber bung that it sits in where it goes through the bulkhead on the classics there are 2 different size holes in the bulkhead between the early RA prefacelift and the later classics cant remember off the top of my head which way round it was tho.
