Closed deck cylinder heads

Hi guys I wonder if anyone could help me out. I'm the unfortunate owner of an sti that's developed a rod knock. Now I've actually got a closed deck engine Id like to replace it with. The offending engine I believe is a v5 sti with the later inlet manifold with coil pack on top. Will I need to switch the heads over to the cdb to use the later inlet manifold or can I use the early heads. Im aware of the piston protrusion so have purchased some 1.6 mm mls steel gaskets to replace the composite ones. Just not sure what heads to use, I've read so much info online that baffled me lol. I need to keep the later coilpack type manifold ldealy due to wiring etc. Any advise would be much appreciated guys. Thanks
